About Mark

My name is Mark Quattrocchi. This site is dedicated to giving people a look into the wonders of world travel. Through my experiences, thoughts and ambitions about adventure, I strive to give motivation to people to follow their dreams. It is not just about travel, but showing people the tools available to succeed in life and find their true calling. To find what we are all looking for. To make life happen for yourself, to live your dreams and open yourself to new surroundings. I believe hard work and dedication can change our lives. I love this world. It is an amazing place and I hope you are able to find power through my experiences.

Back in 2012 I moved to the tropical paradise of China’s Hainan Island and worked as a Kindergarten Teacher at a The Canadian International School of Sanya. On July 7th, 2014, I left from Sanya on the adventure of a lifetime. I began a cycling journey around the world. Around the world by bike, back to my home in Canada. My journey began in China and headed westward. Along the old Silk Road through historic Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, before making a loop through India. I explored the beauty of Eastern Europe starting in Turkey and down through the hidden treasures of Africa via Malta. Cycling Cairo to Cape Town, I headed over to South America. From there, I weaved my way North all the way home to Canada. I rode in support of WE Charity, in order to give others access to reliable and safe education. I helped to build schools in countries in need as I went. For exploration, change, adventure and hope. I’ll see you out there!

*Check out my recent posts and charity page for more information on the ride.

    • Thanks for the comment Sue. I never really thought about it that way, but I suppose you are right. I guess I am used to these types of things now. I know it would be someone else’s nightmare and in no way a holiday. Puts things into perspective I guess. Hope all is well!

    Hello Mark
It was nice meeting you today in Troy, Ohio. I am a bit jealous as I am an avid bike tour rider. Not sure I would tackle your journey, but you should be very proud of your accomplishment. Please be safe on the rest of your trip, and remember to keep your helmet on. It saved my life twice.
Let me know when you get home safe.

Come July, I will soon depart from this same city and return home. Thanks to you and your one adventure, I’m inspired to dream bigger. Thank you for sharing your story. Best of luck to you.
